The Nose

Gentle, charcoal phenolic with a pale lemon zest, fine wheat hull and straw aroma.

 

The Palate

With the refinement and vitality of a spring-fed river, the structure surges velvety and smooth around the tongue, carrying with it the fine-grained unctuous alcohol that rolls along in mid stream. Like the rainbow from the spray over rapids, hints of pepper spice and lemon hang over the palate leaving a warm and tingly mouth feel. With no fewer than seven distillations, this vodka has not even a hint of roughness, just a unique quality of polish, purity and sinuous grace.

Our Master distiller Michael Deinlein can trace his distilling heritage to Oberammergau, Germany where his family made herbal liqueurs in the 1930’s. He masterfully handcrafts each bach in a Arnold-Holstein copper reflux pot still imported from Germany.

It’s a elegant vessel that luminates with light & artisanal depth, one can see ‘Whio Whio’ etched down the side, the whistling mating call of the male & Maori name for the blue duck.
